. . .POT FOR PEACE. . .
MOHANDUS (MAHÂTMÂ) GANDHI conceived of a novel technique
which he called SATYAGRAHA. GANDI said that the root of all
VIOLENCE/CONFLICT (WAR) is UNTRUTH and that the only
solution (PEACE) is TRUTH. Y'all hypocrites, start tellin' the TRUTH...
Have y'all EVER stopped to think of the good POT VICTORY GARDENS could effect in America?
BIG VAL and BIG AL are absolutely opposed to people under legal age using any substance that is harmful to their health which includes but is not limited to tobacco, alcohol, biochemically engineered and processed food, cow's milk (mucous plus fat plus hormones plus antibiotics), and gambling (not a substance but hazardous to good health). BIG VAL and BIG AL do not endorse or encourage the illegal use of any substance including but not limited to marijuana. That said...
No profit is to be made on the cultivation of POT VICTORY GARDENS by the cultivators. All proceeds after taxes would go to localities to be used as deemed fit by the local governing body. Prices would be determined by an oversight committee - quality, competition and the market would be considered by said committee. Cultivators would not qualify for "not for profit" status. In other words, NO SCAMMING. The cost of cultivation needs would be borne by the cultivator. Pot victory gardens would be a labor of love. Should any geographic area be unsuitable for cultivation a predetermined percentage of outside localities' revenues would be transferred to the needy area for indoor and/or hydroponic growing facilities. Individual growers should not be expected to shoulder the extra cost. Highly unlikely inasmuch as marijuana is indigenous (y'all know, like in WEED) to North America. Any grower found to be selling or giving marijuana to those not of legal age or selling marijuana for personal profit would be prosecuted fully under the law.
Now BIG VAL and BIG AL know y'all are scratching your head and thinkin' (sort of) "Why would people want to grow POT VICTORY GARDENS?" Why? Because theyr'e potheads, that's why. Potheads all over the country would jump on the POT FOR PEACE bandwagon. However, for once in their slacker lives they would be doing something for the good of all and they would buy it. Why? Again, because they're potheads. Additionally, strictly enforced regulations would take the industry out of the hands of the bastards who sell it to kids. Locally just this month (August, 2004) BIG VAL and BIG AL heard on the news that some forty-seven year old loser son of a rich lawyer got busted for growing marijuana in his backyard and was charged with felony manufacturing and distribution of pot. GOOD. Bet he never thought of all the kids in his neighborhood who would sneak into the pot patch. Trust us, he didn't. BIG VAL and BIG AL think a forty-seven year old loser/slacker son of a rich lawyer who grows pot IN THE BACKYARD deserves to go to the slammer for being arrogant and stupid. At least this time it's not some young inexperienced kid who doesn't know his father lookin' at jail time. 'Course his rich lawyer dad will prolly get him off.
An important by-product of legalizing and regulating the manufacture and distribution of pot would be the TRUTH factor. The TRUTH will set us free. Our jails are full of young people associated with such activities while doctors, lawyers, housewives, judges and the like, so-called "straights," puff away in an environment of hypocritical secrecy. During the depths of the Depression, Franklin Roosevelt inspired the nation when he said "we have nothing to fear but fear itself." Ain't it the truth? Another extremely viable by-product of these activities would be the cultivation of hemp. TRUTH be told, the reason the Government is opposed to hemp growing is the reality of pot usage in America. No doubt there would be many who would choose not to cultivate POT VICTORY GARDENS but would cultivate hemp. Farmers, for instance. Hemp would be regulated on the agribusiness level as any other agricultural crop.
Hemp is an amazing product and is one of the oldest cultivated plants in history going back at least six thousand years. One of the oldest archaeological relics in existence is a piece of hemp cloth from the Mesopotanian area. The great Renaissance artists painted on hemp canvas; the word "canvas" is derived from the word "cannabis." Gainsborough, Rembrandt and Van Gogh painted primarily on hemp canvas. Guttenburg's bible was printed on hemp, as were many other major printings of the bible. Thomas Jefferson was an advocate and grower of hemp, drafting the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper. Around 1815 Jefferson received the first U.S. patent for his hemp breaking machine, which reportedly did the work of ten men. George Washington experimented with hemp crops at his Mount Vernon estate. Until the 1820s in America eighty percent of all textiles and fabrics used for clothing, tents, bed sheets, and linens, rugs, drapes, quilts, towels, diapers, etc., and even the U.S. flag, "Old Glory," were principally made from fibers of cannabis hemp. Hemp is recognized as a commercial product by N.A.F.T.A. and the G.A.T.T. and is grown legally in many countries around the world including our neighbor Canada.
. . .GET PROACTIVE AND PEACE OUT Y'ALL. . .
